Western Style Pendant Lamps for Your Log Home

Friday, March 14th, 2008

western pendant lightingI tend to think of pendant lamps as colorful and decidedly modern looking–which in my mind aren’t particularly loggy. I suppose you could have a log home with modern decorating but… I don’t think I’ve seen one yet!

These western-themed pendant lamps might be a little more expected, especially if you’re into the ranch “home on the range” kind of home. There’s nothing like a bucking bronco to represent those cowboy themes.

This pendant light is available over at Aspen Lighting, where they’ve got a whole section devoted to western styles: “Silhouette scenes of buffalo, the trail’s end and roundups with glowing amber mica light. Alabaster shades with lonestar motifs and pendants with mare and foal etched glass.”

Prices start around $250.

“Split Log” Wall Sconce Offers Nature Inspired Lighting Option

Saturday, March 1st, 2008

split log wall sconceIf you’re looking for wall lamps for your log home, then perhaps something inspired by logs themselves would be appropriate?

The “Split Log” wall sconce light shown here looks a bit like it might have real wood, or a sheet of bark, in the shade, but it’s actually a digital print embedded in white acrylic. Though not exactly the real thing, it gives you a little more versatility, since it’s available with your choice of five “log lamp” images.

The product image doesn’t mention if the shades are interchangeable, but it’d be fun to get more than one and swap out your log-look sconces now and then.
