Carved Wooden Toilet Seat Features Nuthatch
Saturday, June 16th, 2007
When your bathroom walls are made from logs, a plain old white porcelain toilet may seem out of place. Why not add a woodsy accent with a wooden seat and cover?
This toilet seat and lid set is carved from oak. It’s been handmade by a seller over at Etsy:
“Our Nuthatch toilet seat is solid oak with a solid brass hinge. We relief carved the nuthatch design into the wood by hand to give it unexpected dimension, then hand painted the design to really make it pop. Coated with several coats of high gloss sealant, both the lid and seat are well protected.”
$70 through Etsy.
If you’re looking for fun ways to add some authentic rustic flair to your log home or cabin, then decorative cabinet hardware could be a fun choice in the kitchen (of course, you can also use it in the bathroom, kids’ rooms, or any place you have cabinets and drawers). These Mountain Moose Drawer Pulls are definitely a way to add a whimsical touch.
These stools aren’t quite as rustic as a lot of the furniture I look at on here, but not everyone is going to want to decorate their log homes in a rustic style. There are plenty of modern log dwellings out there. Either way you go, these handsome wooden stools probably wouldn’t look out of place.
Traditionally futons are kind of an eastern thing, but nowadays you can get them in lots of different styles. If you’re decorating your log home or cabin, you can even get them made from logs.
If you’ve been dreaming of building a log home or a log cabin, but buying a kit sounds like way too much work, you may want to check out one of the companies that is selling modular log houses and cabins. Unlike with a kit, where you get all the materials but still have to assemble everything from scratch, modular homes are constructed in factories and come nearly complete. Final assembly at the construction lot (aka the land you bought for your dream home) usually only takes a few days.
