Cabinets can vary quite a bit in cost, depending on the material used and whether you buy stock cabinets or custom-made. Below, we take a closer look at cost. Keep in mind, these are only estimates, and your costs will vary depending on your location. Stock Cabinets These are the type of cabinets that you can buy at your local home supply store. They either have them in stock or can order them in an expedient matter. Stock cabinets are the least expensive, but it can be hard to find exactly what you're looking for sometimes; without a custom fit, you may end up stuck with dead space in your kitchen/bathroom. To save money, you can use stock cabinets in the bathrooms, then upgrade the kitchen cabinets to something more special since it is a room that typically sees more use. Stock cabinets run about $50-$350 per linear foot. Semi-custom Cabinets Going with semi-custom is usually where you get your best value. You pay a little more than with stock cabinets, and you're still a little bit limited in style choices, but this way you can get cabinets that are designed to precisely fit your kitchen space. Semi-custom cabinets run about $150-$600 per linear foot. Custom Cabinets Though today's stock and semi-custom cabinets offer numerous styles, some people opt for something more unique in their home. Accordingly, this is the most expensive cabinetry option. Custom work well typically run you $300 and up per linear foot.
